65 - Garaway Whips Baltic 66-46 (2-12-65)

BALTIC - Garaway's touted Pirates (7-1) (13-4) had no trouble at with Baltic (0-8) (3-14), leading 14-9, 32-21 and 47-32 at the stops.  The smooth-working Bucs popped in 26 of 66 floor flings for a fine 40 percent and sank 15 of 24 charities.  The Eagles had a higher percentage, 43 on 19 of 44 action attempts and made 8 of 11 fouls.  Talented Dan Andreas, a possible All-District selection, again paced the fighting Pirates with 24 points, giving him 281 for the season.  He had plenty of support, Randy Miller and Ron Raber tossing in 18 and 12 points, respectively.  High for the Eagles was Keith Miller with 16.  Miller and Raber combined to give the Glenn Bower-coached Pirates an unbeatable 1-2 punch under the boards, snaring 15 and 14 rebounds, respectively.  Garaway will go after another win tonight when it hosts tough Strasburg.  The 1960-61 Pirates were 21-5 and a year later the mark was 17-7, both under Bower's guidance.  Baltic finishes its last campaign in history 3-15.  The Eagles haven't had a winning slate since an 11-10 mark in 1960-61.  Baltic merges with Garaway next school term.  It meets Seton Catholic of Lafferty Tuesday in tournament play.  The Garaway Reserves (8-6) edged the Baltic Reserves (3-10) 45-43.
