PORT WASHINGTON - The Alumni beat the Faculty 71-64 and the 9th-10th Grade girls upended the 11th-12th Grade girls 29-22 in basketball games here Saturday. Bill Phillips paced the Alumni, meshing 19 points. Paul Schwab, Larry Laisure and Ed Bates all got 10. Others playing were Bob Gray, Jeff Quillen, Jim Bates and John Landon. High for the Faculty was Jim Pfeiffer with 15. Joe Lopez garnered 10. Also playing were Neil Compton, Charlie Knight, Billy Ray Honaker, Jim Overholt, Ed Brookover and Larry Combs.
On the 9th-10th Grade girls squad were Jody Stemple, Carol Henry, Brenda Stephen, Charlotte Sanders, Alice Clum, Sue Scott, Shirley Martin, Melody Glazer, Sue Casteel, Mary Laisure, Connie West and Karen Tufford. Brenda Stephen was high scorer with 17 points. Pacing the 11th-12th club was Mary Ann McCune with 15 markers. Also on the team were Linda Goettge, Marjorie Welsch, Rita Taylor, Barbara Hogan, Ann Patterson, Glenna Bassett, Kay Caldwell, Linda Mathews, Marsha Casteel and Sheryl Fillman.
The games were sponsored by the Port Washington Booster Club.
