CANTON - Conotton Valley's Rockets (22-3) missed a trip to the State Tournament in Columbus this week by a scant 6 seconds as Ray Ginther put in a jump shot from the corner to give the Northwestern Huskies (23-1) the victory. It was a heartbreaking loss for Coach Errol Jacobs' Rockets, who lost possession of the ball with 22 seconds remaining. Northwestern advances to the State Tournament for the 3rd time in 7 years. The Rockets got the ball in the final 6 seconds and attempted to get the ball into Jim Monigold for a last-ditch shot. The pass was broken up. Greg Kurtz scored 13 points and Monigold 12 in the Rockets losing effort. Osborne pumped in 16 and Ginther 12 for Northwestern.

NOTE: The following was reported in The Daily Reporter: Garaway High's talented Dan Andreas, tabbed the outstanding Class A basketball player in Ohio's Eastern Disrict March 13, reaped additional glory today by landing a berth on the All-State aggregation. He joins 5 others from among some 9,000 boys on Ohio's 476 smaller schools on the Associated Press Dream Team (1st Team). Andreas is a 6-4 Junior and averaged 16 points per game for the Pirates this past season. Dan Kohler of Midvale and Ralph Douglass of Dennison St. Mary are among the honorable mentions.
NOTE: That ends the 1964-65 Basketball Season...Batter Up! (That is for those teams who bothered to report their games).
