65 - Dover St. Joseph's Gets By Tuscarawas 10-8 (4-13-65)
TUSCARAWAS - Although forced to practice on their football field, Dover St. Joseph's baseballers found a regular diamond to their liking yesterday and defeated host Tuscarawas (1-1). The Broncos jumped in front 3-0 in the 2nd inning, but Art Teynor's lads evened the count in the 3rd, got a pair in the 4th, another in the 5th and won the decision with 4 in the seventh. Tuscarawas had gone on top 8-6 with 5 markers in the 5th frame. Mickey McCracken hurled for the Ramblers, yielding 5 hits, walking 10 and striking out 7. T. Reed was the loser, Dave Paisley working in the final frame. They were touched for 9 safeties, passed 3 and fanned 8. Skip Weaver had 3 doubles and McCracken a pair of 2-baggers for the Ramblers. Rich Schumacher slammed out a double for the Broncos.
