ZOARVILLE - Bill Frye must be hoping all games are as easy as his 1st as head basketball coach at Tuscarawas Valley High.  The Trojans made Frye's debut an overwhelming success last night by ripping Malvern.  Friday the Trojans will face a stiff test when they visit Strasburg, home of the  always-tough Tigers who are under 1st year Coach Charlie Huggins.

Tuscasrawas Valley (1-0) just had too much for the Hornets, pulling away to a 13-3 lead at the end of the 1st quarter, leading 32-13 at the half and taking a 44-25 advantage into the final frame.  Frye used 12 players, with big Harold Swinford leading the way with 19 points.  The scoring was even from there on, Joe Deubner and Chuck Fishley both getting 8 points,  Larry Adams and  Dan Burrier 6, Dick Harvey 5, Terry Hay 4 and Ray Nist and Jeff Martin 2 each.  Bucky Monroe topped the Green Hornets with 11 points.  Dan Wackerly tossed in 10.  TV hit on 41 percent of its field goal tries and sank 20 of 39 fouls.  Malvern canned 17 of 37 fouls.  Fifty-four personals were called in the game, 24 against the Trojans.  John Savona and Herman Brown of Malvern and Hay fouled out in the 4th quarter.  Both teams were somewhat ragged and committed several turnovers.  The Tuscarawas Valley Reserves (0-1) stung Malvern 61-17.
