Centerburg High School Head Basketball Coach - Richard E. King
DOVER - Dick King, popular basketball coach at Port Washington High in 1959-60 and 1960-61, has resigned his position as Centerburg High coach to pursue a full-time career with the R.H. Jacobs Insurance Agency and Union Mutual Life Insurance in Centerburg and Mount Vernon. King's team at Port Washington were 10-11 and 8-11, respectively. At Centerburg the past 4 years, King has enjoyed great success...a record of 66 wins and 22 losses. He was named area Coach of the Year in 1962 and 1964 when his teams were District Runner-up and District Champion, respectively. King attribute his success at Centerburg to the devotion of the players, students and fans. King is married and is the father of one child.
