65 - Gnadenhutten Shuts-Out Midvale 5-0 (5-17-65)
MIDVALE - Gnadenhutten (14-2) gained at least a tie for the Tuscarawas County Class A Baseball League title yesterday by virtue of a victory over Midvale (4-3). The unbeaten Indians can take the entire ball of wax Wednesday by beating visiting Garaway. Currently, Ted Martin's Indians are 4-0 in the league and have 14 victories against all comers.
Yesterday, Sophomore southpaw Bill Kohl (8-1) hiked his personal record by limiting Midvale to 3 hits, walking none and fanning 8. Eugen Belba (3-1), relieved by Tom Hawkins (0-0) in the 7th, was the loser. They allowed 10 safeties, passed 2 and struck out 4. Terry Huebner and Wayne Martin both had a double (3)(2) and single (10)(7) and Gene Bates and Dan Jinks each had 2 singles (9)(3) for Gnadenhutten.
