STRASBURG - Never behind and never in serious difficulty, Strasburg High's Tigers (3-1) roared to their 3rd straight victory Saturday night, breezing past Dover St. Joseph's.  John Studer whipped in 30 points, including 12 in the 1st period when Strasburg grabbed a 23-13 lead, to pace the triumph.  Ed Yackey added 16, providing the Bengals an unstoppable 1-2 scoring punch.  Leading the way for the Ramblers were Mickey McCracken and Larry Smith with 14 and 13, respectively.  Strasburg, which has only an opening-game loss to Midvale,  entertains a pair of county rivals in non-league matches this weekend.  Gnadenhutten invades the Tiger lair Friday night and Garaway visits Saturday night.  Meanwhile, St. Joseph's still far ahead of last year's victory pace, is at Tuscarawas Tuesday night and hosts Guernsey Catholic Saturday night.  The Ramblers will be seeking to achieve their 4th and 5th triumphs after having lost their last 2 outings.  Last year, St. Joseph's didn't achieve its 3rd win until January 23 and its 4th nod until January 29.

In Saturday night's match with Strasburg, St. Joseph's was close at the outset, but never really in the ball game after the Tigers spurted to a 21-9 lead later in the opening stanza.  The Tigers, scoring when they had to, had their lead trimmed to 32-25 midway in the 2nd quarter.  But once again they turned on the steam, tallying 8 straight points.  In the final period, Strasburg outscored the Ramblers 28-22 to win going away.  Strasburg, in dominatingboth backboards, took advantage to fire 86 field shots goalward.  TheTigers made 29 for 33.7 percent.  St. Joseph's connected 22 times in 71 floor tries for 30.9 percent.  The Strasburg Reserves also had no problems with the Dover St. Joseph's Reserves by outdistancing them 42-26.
