Members of Midvale High School's Basketball Team this season are: Head Coach Pete Hilliard, Bob Grimm, Lee Eberly, Harvey Byers, Dan Fox, Bob Morrison, Gene McPherson, Mike DeMattio, Bob Carlisle, Bill Hibbs and Chuck DeMattio.
MADISON - Midvale (4-1) got 24 points from Harvey Byers and double figure efforts from 3 others Saturday night to down Madison. The Blue Devils were in complete control after leading 12-11 at the 1st stop. They hiked their margin to 37-20 at the half and then held on for a 55-42 spread going into the final frame. Midvale will visit Port Washington Friday and travel to Scio Saturday.
Giving Byers adequate help were Bob Carlisle with 15 points, Bill Hibbs with 14 and Chuck DeMattio with 14. Lee Eberty and Dan Fox rounded out the scoring with 4 and 2 points, respectively. Three Madison cagers also hit 2 digits, Paden leading the way with 17 points and Lawrence and McLaughlin both getting 15. Both teams rammed in 41 percent of the action shots, Midvale going 29 for 71 and Madison going 24 for 58. From the foul lines, Midvale was 14 for 26 and Madison 16 for 28. Rebounds favored Midvale 35 to 24, with Carlisle grabbing 12, Byers 8 and Demattio 7. The Madison Reserves rocked the Midvale Reserves 41-39.
