66 - Tuscarawas Rips Malvern 81-60 (12-4-65)





TUSCARAWAS - The Bronco basketball team (1-2) appears to be one of the biggest beneficiaries from the Stone Creek School merger with New Philadelphia.  The Broncos, with a big assist from former Stone Creek cager John Bihari, ripped Malvern Saturday night.  Bihari poured in 25 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.  Fifteen of his points came in the 2nd quarter to spark the Broncos to a 42-32 halftime lead after they trailed 23-17 after one period.  Tuscarawas led 55-39 going into the final frame.  Three other Broncos hit double figures,too, Ray McWilliams  and Dave Paisley netting 16 and Brent Lehigh 12.  Lehigh was the top rebounder with 19 as Tuscarawas dominated both boards.  Tuscarawas hit  on 27 of 81 action attempts for 32 percent and made 27 of 46 free throws.  Sixty-one personals were called, 28 against Tuscarawas.  Tuscarawas Reserves (2-1) slammed the Malvern Reserves, 85-13.
