66 - Midvale Slugs Scio 59-40 (12-18-65)





SCIO - Midvale (6-1) is just like old man river, it just keeps rolling along.  The Blue Devils, who have enjoyed tremendous basketball success under Coach Pete Hilliard, racked up its 6th win of the season Saturday night, ripping Scio.  Midvale, which has lost only 60-56 to Garaway and will host Tuscarawas Valley Tuesday, used substitutes the entire final quarter.  The Blue Devils held commanding leads at all the stops, 16-7, 30-16 and 54-26.  They held an imposing 32-point lead, 54-22, with a minute left in the 3rd period.  Nine players scored for the Blue Devils, with Bill Hibbs high and the only one in double figures.  He had 21 points.  Pacing the Panthers was RickWhite with 19.  Rebounds favored Midvale 43-31, with Hibbs pulling in 9.  Midvale canned 22 of 55 action shots for a fine 40 percent and cashed in on 5 of 20 fouls.  Scio made 13 of 58 floor flings for 22 percent and 14 of 24 charity tosses.  Midvale whipped Scio in the Reserve game as well, 35-24.
