65 - Midvale Jolts Newcomerstown 2-1 (5-10-65)

MIDVALE - Eugene Belba (4-1) of Midvale (4-2) won his own baseball game yesterday, doubling in Mike Creager in the 5th inning in a victory over Newcomerstown.  The Trojans took a 1-0 lead off Blue Devil starter Gene Morrison (0-0) in the 4th frame when Berger singled and stole 2nd and rode home on Bender's safety.  A double by Porcher put men on 2nd and 3rd and Belba was summoned to the mound.  The righhander passed the 1st batter he faced to load the sacks, but got Handle to ground out.  Midvale tied the count in the bottom of  the 4th on Bob Anderson's triple (2) and Dan Korcher's successful squeeze.  Belba and Morrison walked 2 struck out 3 and allowed 5 hits.  VanDusan was the loser, yeilding 4 safeties, passing 2 and fanning 3.
