66 - Tuslaw Slams Tuscarawas Valley 61-30 (2-12-66)





TUSLAW - Jim Hoffman and Jeff Hawk tossed in 18 points apiece Saturday night to power Tuslaw (2-15) by Tuscarawas Valley (5-13) in TV's last game of the season.  Tuslaw led 11-5 at the 1st stop, 33-15 at the half and 46-24 going into the final frame.  Dick Harvey was the only Trojan in double figures, netting 12 points.  Tuscarawas Valley made just 12 of 56 action attempts for 21 percent and was 6 of 22 from the foul lines.  Tuslaw made 20 of 51 floor flings for 39 percent and sank 21 of 40 fouls.  Rebounds favored Tuslaw 41 to 36, with Hawk snaring 16.  Tom Shoyer pulled in 11 to top the Trojans.  Hoffman opened the scoring with a pair of foul shots and then tossed in a goal and the Mustangs were off and running.  TV made only one of 11 foul shots in the 2nd half.  Twenty-six personals were called against the Trojans and 17 against the Mustangs.  The Trojans committed 22 turnovers and the Mustangs 11.  The Tuscarawas Valley Reserves nipped the Tuslaw Reserves 45-42.
