66 - Strasburg Tops All In Girls Junior High Track Meet (5-3-66)













Strasburg's victorious Junior High Championship Team consists of:  Patti Krantz, Linda Simmers, Kay VanFossen, Dorothy Landis, Diane Megert, Linda Welling, Evelyn Himes, Romona Renner and Head Coach Jack Brandt.




Members of Garaway High School's Championship Team are:  Janet Zeiner, Debbie Weiss, Jane Finzer, Sharon Young, Mollie Gerber, Elizabeth Regula, Cathy Miller, Lois Burky, Mardella Miller, Jennifer Zimmerman, Patty Johnson, girl's physical education instructor and Head Coach Fred Craigo.


UHRICHSVILLE - Strasburg wins Junior High county girls track title in Claymont Stadium yesterday.  Only one record was broken, that by Midvale grader Becky Krocker who won the Baseball Throw with a toss of 197 feet, 6.75 inches to break a record which had stood for 25 years.  Miss Krocker also won the Shot Put with a heave of 33 feet, 1.5 inches to be the only grade school entrant to win a pair of 1st Place Ribbons.  Patti Krantz, Linda Simmers, Dorothy Landis and Kay VanFossen paced the Tigers in the 220-Yard Relay and the 300-Yard Shuttel Relay team of Miss Simmers, Romona Renner, Miss Krantz and Linda Welling won with a time of 0:41.9.
