66 - Dalton Slams Strasburg 112-85 (1-29-66)
DALTON - Strasburg (11-4) came up with its 2nd best offensive showing of the season Saturday night, ripping the cords for 85 points. The only trouble was, Dalton poured in 112. The Tigers, who scored 95 points December 10th to beat Tuscarawas, hit on 34 of 68 action attempts for 50 percent and made 17 of 26 fouls. Dalton, which has lost only to powerhouses Rittman, Northwestern and United Local, swished 47 of 94 from the floor for 59 percent and added 18 of 26 fouls. The Bulldogs also led in rebounds; although, Chuck Jones pulled in 10 and Ed Yackey and John Studer 9 each for Strasburg. Strasburg had a potent 1-2-3 punch, Ed Rusk getting 22 points and Studer and Jones 21 each. But it couldn't match the 5-double figure performers of the Bulldogs who were led by Berg's 31 markers. The Tigers, who visit Garaway Friday for an important Tuscarawas County Class A League battle, stayed close at the 1st stop, trailing only 21-18. Dalton opened up a 55-41 edge by the half and led 85-59 going into the final frame. On the 28th in a league game, Strasburg lost their 1st league game to Midvale. The Dalton Reserves just got by the Strasburg Reserves by a score of 53-50.
