66 - Tuscarawas Takes-Out Scio 7-5 (5-2-66)






GNADENHUTTEN - Tuscarawas (4-1) outslugged the Scio Panthers yesterday to gain the semifinals in the Class A Baseball Tournament.  The Hiland-Strasburg (3-1) game scheduled yesterday at Sugarcreek was postponed and will be held there today at 3:30.  This winner will meet Tuscarawas Wednesday at 3:30 following the Gnadenhutten (3-3)-Malvern contest at 1:30.

Dave Paisley (4-1) was the winning pitcher yesterday, coming on in the 2nd inning in relief of Tim Reed (0-0).  The duo gave up just 3 hits, walked 6 and struck out 8.  The losing moundsman was Rich Downs, with Paul Baker taking over in the fifth.  They allowed 9 hits, struck out 6 and walked 1.  Rich Schumacher (1), Terry Willison (3) and Ray McWilliams (1) all doubled for the Broncos.  Paisley (3), Schumacher (6), Reed (7) and McWilliams (2) had 2 hits each.
