66 - Garaway, Hiland Game Called After 5 Innings 0-0 (4-12-66)
BERLIN - Garaway (0-0) and Hiland battled to a scoreless deadlock in a 5-inning baseball game yesterday. Dan Andreas (0-0) was on the mound for the Pirates, hurling No-Hit ball while striking out 8 and walking 5. His oppenent was John Hochstetler who permitted 2 hits, walked 2 and fanned 5.
Hiland threatened to score in the 2nd inning, loading the bases with 2 outs. But, Andreas struck out the next batter. Garaway kicked up its heels in the 5th frame, filling the sacks with 1 out. But, the next batter hit into a force out and the next popped up. Greg Troyer had a double for Garaway and teammate Bob Farver at 2nd base came up with 2 sparkling defensive plays.
