66 - Garaway Falls To Riverview 61-46 (2-5-66)





KEENE - Class AA Riverview was forced to the limit Saturday night to post a 61-46 victory over Garaway (11-4).  The Pirates fell behind 11-8 at the 1st stop and were back 30-20 by the half and 43-33 going into the final frame.  A potent one-two punch spearheaded the Riverview attack, Donley meshing 26 points and Kilpatrick 18.  High for the Pirates was talented Dan Andreas, an All-Ohio candidate, with 17 points.  He was the only Pirate in double figures.  Riverview hit on 24 of 52 action attempts for 48 percent and added 13 of 14 fouls.  Garaway was 17 of 41 from the floor for 42 percent and 12 of 14 from the charity stripes.  Rebounds favored Riverview 25-22.  Dan Andreas snared 7 to top the Pirates.  Eleven turnovers plqayed havoc with the Pirate attack.  Garaway would go on to beat Gnaden in a league game and layed into Howard, 71-43, in their next game.
