67 - Tuscarawas County 1966-67 Class A Scoring Race

DOVER - Scoring totals continued to climb as Tuscarwas County teams prepare for the last round of regular season action this weekend.  An amazing number of points were registered as last week's round of activity elevated more into the eliteclass of 400.  Latest to join the charmed circle was Dan Jinks of the Gnadenhutten Indians.  John Studer leads all county scoring with 456 points for an average of 26.8 points a game.  Jinks, not quite up to his usual norm over the weekend, hit the hoop for 27 for the 2 nights to up his overall total to 402 with one more game remaining.  A total of 5 scorchers climbed into the charmed 200 circle with 3 of them from Port Washington, Jeff Huston, Greg Bender and Jerry Stephens as all produced points enough to take the bow.  Other county scoring stars are Don Richardson of Garaway, 212 and Fred Rausch, Tuscarawas, with 207, which rounds out the consistent scoring leaders.

Strasburg stepped out in both offense and defense leadership this week by upping its offensive average to 80.5 per outing.  The defense has allowed its opponents an output average of 42.5 per contest.  The Tigers slipped under the Garaway Pirates who last week led in the defense with an average of 43.7 per contest.  Garaway's defense has permitted 44.1 per outing for 2nd place this week.
