FAIRLESS - The Fairless Falcons (1-0) fought off a late Strasburg Tigers (0-1) rally Tuesday night. The game was decided at the foul line where Fairless canned 12 bonus tosses to 5 for Strasburg. Strasburg made 17 field goals to just 15 for Fairless. The Falcons had trouble with Strasburg in the opening and closing quarters, but won the game in the middle frames.The first period opened in a 9-9 tie, but Fairless moved out to a 22-18 margin at halftime and increased that to 34-26 at the third quarter stop. Strasburg outscored Fairless 13-8 in the last 8 minutes of play, but ran out of time. Carter Coluey topped Fairless with 12 points. Jim Clymer was the only Strasburg cager to get into double figures, hooping 11 points. Fairless controlled the backboards, picking off 43 rebounds, while Strasburg had 33, most of them coming on defense. Both teams were cold from the field. The Tigers hit on 17 of 56 from the floor for 30 percent, but the Falcons were even colder, making only 15 of 57 for 25 percent. The Fairless Reserves (1-0) cooled off the Strasburg Reserves (0-1) 47-27.
