61 - Strasburg Belts Midvale 10-1 (4-20-61)
STRASBURG - Strasburg (1-2) (1-3) Coach Pete Angelo received a fine mound performance from Freshman Davied Dayton (1-0). The young hurler limited Midvale (0-1) to one hit in 5 innings before Frank Weiling (0-0) came on for the final 2 frames. The Blue Devils got 1 hit off each pitcher. Tom Mackey and Warren (Corky) Leggett accounted for the Blue Devil singles. Jim Clymer enjoyed a big day at the plate for the Tigers, smashing 3 for 4, including a double the only extra base hit of the game. Three pitchers shared the duties for Midvale. They were Anderson, who went 2 1/3 innings, Mike Page, who lasted through the 5th and Allenbaugh. They combined for 9 strikeouts, walked 4 and permitted 8 hits.
