61 - Tusky Valley Tops Gnaden 8-0 (5-3-61)

SUGARCREEK - In hurling Tusky Valley (5-2) to its big triumph Mike Widder (3-1) exhibited near-perfect control, walking only one.  He fanned one, while limiting the Indians (5-3) to 3 scattered singles.  Gnadenhutten called on 4 pitchers in an effort to quell the big Trojans bats.  Rainy (0-1) started for the Indians, but was tagged for 5 runs in the first inning and had no one out when Glenn Miller (0-0) received the call.  Miller pitched to Ron Lake, who singled, and was lifted in favor of Garret (0-0), who lasted until the fifth inning when Jim McCreary (0-0) came in for the "mop up" job.  Al Cerett paced the Trojans at the plate, drilling a Home Run with 2 men on base.  Rod Cropper and Bob Jones each had doubles, while Dean Nemitz and  Don Crilley counted 2 singles apiece.  Tusky Valley collected a total of 13 hits off the Gnaden pitching quartet.  In a game not reported, TV (6-2) beat Port Washington (2-4).
