DENNISON - The finals were treated to a fiery duel between the Pirates (19-4) and Indians (13-8).  Three Garaway starters hit the double figure column in the evenly-matched game with buxom Bill Yakley leading the victory on 17 points.  Tom Andreas and Bob Raber added 14 and 12, respectively.  The latter fouled out with 3:52 to play.  Bill Blickensderfer paced the Indians with 17 points and Ray Rank added 12.  Gnadenhutten broke out to an 8-0 lead at the outset before Bill Yakley dented the scoring column with a layup shot for the Pirates.  From there Gnadenhutten moved to a 12-2 lead and was on top 20-14 at the end of the first quarter.  The Pirates began hitting on all gears in the second quarter and tied the game at 26-26 with 2:55 in the half.  The lead see-sawed until, with one second to go, Gnaden's Dave Struchen swished a fielder from near the mid-court mark to give the Indians a narrow 32-31 lead at the half.  In the second half the game was a nip-and-tuck duel throughout.  The biggest margin was 3 points and that was 51-48 and held by the Pirates.  Gnaden and Garaway were dead-locked a total of 4 times on the stretch run.  Garaway had a few foul shooting opportunities, and therefore had to connect from the field.  The  Pirates hit 27 of 83 field goal tries for 32.6 percent.  They had only 9 foul shooting opportunities and made 4.  Gnadenhutten connected 21 times in 58 attempts from  the floor for 36.2 percent, while  making 13 of 19 free throws.
