64 - Strasburg Brings Down Garaway 6-5 (5-18-64)

STRASBURG - Coach Pete Angelo's Strasburg High Tigers (5-1) (9-2) moved into a deadlock with Garaway for the Tuscarawas County Class A Baseball League leadership here, Monday, edging the Pirates (5-1) (6-2).  The Tigers will visit Tuscarawas tonight, while Garaway must play Stone Creek.  If both Strasburg and Garaway win, the 2 teams will meet in a sudden death playoff for the title.  The Tigers plated a single run in the 1st frame and went ahead 2-1 after the Pirates tied the count 1-1 in the third.  Garaway went in front 3-2 in the 6th, but the Tigers knotted the score in the 7th to send the contest into extra innings.  In the top of the 8th, Garaway tallied twice to take a 5-3 advantage, but Strasburg came back with 3 with no outs.  Bob Mills (5-2) went all the way for the victory, scattering 5 hits, walking 2 and striking out 7.  Jim Wheeler (2-2) started for Garaway, Larry Milligen (3-1) coming on in the seventh for the loss.
