64 - Strasburg Home Runs Blasts Port Washington 14-3 (5-7-64)




PORT WASHINGTON - A grand-slam Home Run by Tom Dreher (1) and a 2-run Home Run clout by John Peters (1) propelled Strasburg (4-1) (6-2) to a victory over Port Washington (0-3) (0-4).  Strasburg has a least 2 makeup games before finishing up there schedule.  Bob Mills (4-2) was the winner, Coach Pete Angelo also using Peters (0-0), Rock VanFossen (0-0) and Terry Spidell (0-0) on the mound.  The quartet walked 6, struck out 4 and allowed 6 hits.  Don Metzger (0-2) took the loss, Leonard Cameron (0-1) and Steve Gallion (0-1) coming on.  The trio was hammered for 15 safeties, passed 2 and fanned 2.  Jim Bates had a triple for the Purple Riders.
