64 - Dover St. Joseph's And Tusky End In Tie 8-8





Tuscarawas High School (Broncos) Senior Pitcher - Jeff Maxwell (Struckout 8 and a Single)

TUSCARAWAS - Art Teynor's Dover St. Joseph's Rambler baseballers battled Tuscarawas (1-0) to a tie here Thursday.  The Ramblers, who will compete in the Class A Sectional Baseball Tournament next week, got single runs in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd innings, added 2 in the 5th and 3 more in the sixth.  The Broncos plated a lone tally in the 1st, added 2 in the 3rd, pushed in 4 in the 5th and knotted the count in the last frame.  Jeff Maxwell (0-1) hurled for Tuscarawas, allowing 8 safeties, waking 6, striking out 8 and hitting one batsman.  Don Lamonica started for St. Joseph's, Mickey McCracken taking over in the fourth.  The pair gave up just 3 hits, passed 8 and whiffed 6.  The Ramblers commited 4 errors and the Broncos one.  Joe Zuchegno and Ron Rieger socked in 2 runs each for the Ramblers.  Zuchegno had 3 hits.
