64 - Gnaden Ambushes Stone Creek 55-46 (2-8-64)
GNADENHUTTEN - Oren Thompson's Gnadenhutten Indians (7-13) pulled off a mild surprise here Saturday night, edging Stone Creek (11-7). The Indians entered the game with a 6-13 slate. Charles Huggins' Panthers ended season play, the best record and 1st winning campaign at Stone Creek since the 1958-59 squad was 13-9. Bruce Kohl and Terry Huebner led the Tribe with 14 points each. Larry Rentsch added 13. Verle Endlich was high for Stone Creek, popping in 12. Stone Creek led 21-20 early in the 3rd quarter, one of only 2 times the Panthers were on top. Gnadenhutten's biggest margin was 5 points---in the 2nd and 3rd periods. The Panthers used controll ball at the start, but ended up firing at the hoop 55 times, making 15. They sank 16 of 19 charities. Gnaden canned 21 of 46 floor shots and 13 of 18 fouls. Gnadenhutten has also ended their regular season action. The Stone Creek Reserves (10-6) triggered another win 36-29 against the Gnadenhutten Reserves (6-10).
