64 - Midvale Sticks A Fork In Killbuck 4-2 (5-4-64)

GNADENHUTTEN - Midvale's fighting Blue Devils (4-0) gained a District baseball tournament berth by edging Killbuck here Monday.  Eugene Belba (3-0) throttled the Bucks on 5 hits and didn't permit a run until the final frame.  He walked 2 and struck out 6.  Big Dave Shaffer was the loser, allowing 5 safeties, passing one and fanning 8.  He was the victim of shoddy support by his teammates who committed 7 errors.  Three of Midvale's runs were unearned.  Coach Pete Hilliard's Blue Devils plated single markers in  the 1st, 2nd, 5th and 6th innings.  Tom Daniels had 2 hits and Tom Hawkins slapped out a double.  Shaffer had a 2-bagger in  his own behalf.
