64 - Strasburg Falls To Gnaden 7-5 (4-23-64)

PORT WASHINGTON - The Gnadenhutten Indians (2-1) will represent the other Tuscarawas County Class A League in Sectional baseball Tournament play next week.  This was also assured as Gnaden upended Strasburg (4-1) on Thursday.  Since both teams (Gnaden and Midvale) enter Sectional firing, they will not meet for the Class  A League Tournament Crown.  Gnadenhutten got 3 runs in the 1st frame and 4 more in the 2nd...all 7 unearned---in besting Strasburg.  Don Garrett (1-0), Bill Kohl (1-1) and Jim Jinks (1-0) combined hill efforts with Garrett receiving credit  for the victory.  The trio gave up 6 hits, walked 5 and fanned 9.  Bob Mills (3-1) started for the Tigers of Coach Pete Angelo, giving way to Ron Lab (1-0) in the second.  They gave up 5 safeties, passed 4 and struck out 3.  Mills was the victim.  Art Rauzi, Gary Rice and Miller all had doubles for Ted Martin's Indians.  Don Gerber blasted a triple and Lab a 2-bagger (3) for Strasburg.  The game was played at Port Washington.
