64 - Strasburg Shuts Out Tusky Valley 6-0 In Season Opener (4-7-64)





TV BASEBALLERS.  Diamondmen at Tuscasrawas Valley High this season include:  FIRST ROW - Gary Smith (left), Leroy Hay, Sidney Smith, Joe Deubner, Bill Johnson, Bob Locker, Gary Rothacher and Ken Shuman.  SECOND ROW - Manager Dan Shrader (left), Jim Geissinger, Tom Mathey, Gary Adams, Dave Widder, Fritz Clugston, Bob Brinkley and Bruce VanSickle.  THIRD ROW - Coach Larry Foltz (left), Tom Symons, Harry Keifer, Sam Wright, Dean Brown, Harold Swinford, Randy West and Ray Berry.

ZOARVILLE - Strasburg's Bob Mills (1-0) was in mid-season form here Tuesday afternoon as he hurled the Tigers to victory over Tuscarawas Valley in opening Tuscarawas County Class A League action for both schools.  Mills whiffed 16 Trojans and issued just one  hit---a single by Locker.  He walked 4.  Gary Adams (0-1) was the loser, allowing 6 safeties, walking 4 and fanning 7.  Both hurlers went the route.  Ron Lab and Rock VanFossen had doubles for the Tigers who will host Stone Creek (0-0) Thursday.  Strasburg is coached by Pete Angelo.  Tuscarawas Valley is handled by Larry Foltz.
