64 - Gnaden Drops Midvale 3-2 For Tuscarawas Tournament Title (5-20-64)





DIAMOND KINGPINS.  Champions of the Tuscarawas County Class A League Baseball Tournament for the 3rd Spring in succession is Gnadenhutten High whose members are:  FIRST ROW - Dan Jinks (left), Terry Huebner, Don Garrett, Gary Rice and Bill  Kohl.  SECOND ROW - Wally Mullaney (left),  Art Rauzi, Roy Williams,  Ray Williams and Fred Glass.  THIRD ROW - Manager Kenny Downing (left), Wayne Martin, Bruce Kohl, Larry Rentsch, Brice Miller and Coach Ted Martin.

GNADENHUTTEN - Ted Martin's Gnadenhutten High Indians (2-2 (7-3) won the school's 3rd consecutive Spring Baseball Tournament title of the Tuscarawas County Class A League Wednesday, edging Midvale (0-0) (4-2).  Freshman Bill Kohl tossed for the Tribe, yielding 4 hits, walking 1 and fanning seven.  Gene Belba (3-2) was the loser, allowing 5 safeties, passing 3 and striking out 5.  All hits were singles.  Gnadenhutten scored 1 in the 2nd stanza and 2 in the fifth.  Midvale tallied single markers in the 2nd and 6th innings.
