61 - The Summer Tuscarawas County Babe Ruth League (1960)


The Daily Reporter carried only three Babe Ruth games in the summer of 1960.

GNADEN SCORES 13-0 WIN OVER BARNHILL

BARNHILL - In the season opener in the Tuscarawas County Babe Ruth League Gnaden dropped Barnill last night.  Larry Renisch went the distance for the win with Miller behind the plate and gave up 5 free passes, struck out 5 and permitted only 4 safeties, while McPherson was the loser.  McPherson gave up 14 hits, walked 3 and struck out 7.  Renisch helped his own cause with a pari of doubles and a triple, while Miller also doubled.

GNADEN SCORES VICTORY

GNADENHUTTEN - Gnadenhutten's Babe Ruth team dropped Port Washington's combine 10-7 last night in a Tuscarawas County Babe Ruth game.  Dave Struchen took the victory, while Larry Laissure was the loser.  Glen Miller had 4 hits for Gnadenhutten, while Allensworth had 2 doubles.  Gary Gay and Laisure both had 2 hits for Port.

PORT WASHINGTON NINE DEFEATS TUSCARAWAS

Port Washington pounded out a 5-4 win over Tuscarawas in the County Babe Ruth League this week as each team managed 3 hits.  Tom Loader was the winner, fanning 7 and not allowing a walk with Burmish the loser.  Larry Laisure had a triple and Wayne Blind 2 singles for Port, while Reichman had 2 triples for Tusky.
