61 - Baltic Pitcher Fires No-Hitter - Eagles Win 17-0 (9-27-60)
BALTIC - Baltic (3-2) which upended Gnadenhutten (3-1) 4-3 last Thursday (not reported by The Daily Reporter), boosted its County Fall Baseball League record yesterday behind the no-hit pitching effort of veteran hurler Dale Lautenschleger (1-0). In hurling the Eagles to victory over Stone Creek (0-5), Lautenschleger struck out 17 and walked only 2. Stone Creek advanced a runner to second base in the third inning when Lautenschleger walked a man and the Eagles committed an error. But with workmanlike precision the Eagle moundsman quickly put a damper on the Panther's bid, retiring the next 2 men to face him. Ed Wallace (0-2) was charged with the defeat, permitting 12 hits, while walking 7 and fanning one. Gary Mast collected 4 hits in 5 tries for the Eagles, including a double and triple, while Willis Mullet belted a Home Run.
