SUGARCREEK - The Tuscarawas County Fall Baseball League got underway with Garaway High's Pirates (1-0) scoring a victory over Port Washington (0-1) yesterday. The Pirates, behind 3-1 in the final inning, scored 5 runs to lock up the verdict on 5 walks and singles by Bob Raber and Jarret Gray. Jim Bender (0-1) started for Port Washington and was charged with the defeat. He was relieved by Larry Laisure (0-0) in the final inning. Tom Andreas (1-0) received credit for the Garaway victory on the basis of his one-inning relief stint of starting hurler Bob Raber (0-0). Larry Laisure also led Port at the plate with a triple. Bob Tidrick had a Home Run and single for the winners and Bob Raber collected 3 singles.
