60 - TV Goes Down In Regionals 9-7 (5-20-60)
Tuscarawas Valley (10-2) bowed from tournament competition yesterday when it fell to Braceville in theClass "A" Regional baseball meet at North Canton Stadium. Powhatan, the Eastern District's other representative, defeated Brookside 6-2 and will face Braceville tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 (Fast Time) for a trip to next week's final playoffs at Columbus.
Clarence Cantrill (5-2) hurled for the Trojans and went the distance, permitting 10 hits, including a double and single by Bill Collins that accounted for 3 runs. Nye and Stablinger handled the mound duties for Braceville. They were touched for 9 hits by Trojan batters. Cantrill and Ron Lake paced the Trojans with triples. Tusky Valley committed 5 errors and Braceville 4. Coach Bob Heller of theTrojans said this morning that Tusky Valley and Tuscarawas would remain tied for the county baseball championship and it will go down in the record books as a co-championship. Each team had a 7-1 record.
