61 - Garaway Coasts To A 16-7 Win Over Stone Creek (10-7-60)
SUGARCREEK - The Garaway Pirates (5-3) (5-4) concluded the league portion of their 1960 Fall baseball schedule yesterday at Community Park when they defeated Stone Creek (0-7). The Pirates end their season today by entertaining Holmes County's Hiland Hawks. Bob Raber (3-0) started for Garaway and was relieved by Dick Schaar (0-0) in the fifth inning. They combined for 10 strikeouts and 6 walks, while permitting only 4 hits, including a triple and single by the Panthers' Bob Hamilton. Jarret Gray paced the Pirates' 13-hit attack with a Home Run, while Bob Raber collected 3 hits. Tom Andreas and George Shepler tripled and Ron Porter had a double. Ed Wallace (0-1) went the distance for Stone Creek, fanning 3 and walking 4.
