Strasburg's Tigers reigned as undefeated Tuscarawas County Class B League champions for the third straight year after turning back a determined Midvale team 97-93 in a high-scoring donnybrook at Midvale last night. Both teams hit the basket with sharp precision in the contest, which was played before a packed house. The defeat was the second in league play for the Blue Devils, who saw a string of five straight victories snapped. Tuscarawas' Broncos put a temporary damper on the Port Washington Purple Riders 55-54 while Baltic upended Mineral City 95-57 to throw the third and fifth place spots into deadlocks as Stone Creek defeated Dundee 82-68. Last night's action was the final in loop play with the 33rd County tourney slated to open at Memorial Hall Tuesday night. The Bolivar and Gnadenhutten game was cancelled earlier yesterday because of poor weather conditions.
