Purple Riders Stomp Tigers 67-47 (2-5-55)

Coach Bray Toot's Purple Riders (6-3) (14-5) finished with an all-senior team on the floor, some of whom have not seen much action, as they rolled to their easy win over Mineral City (0-9) (4-13). The first-string Riders launched the tilt without the services of Bill McConnell, ill with the flu, but raced to 19-12 and 38-24 leads at the first two rest stops. Port was in front 53-26 after Mineral hit a low point in the third period and the senior aggregation started the final frame. Paul Frank hit 20 points for the winners while Ed Bates had 17 and Paul Lindsey had 28 for Mineral City.
