Ronnie Weaver twirled a two-hit shutout for Midvale yesterday as the host Blue Devils blanked the Port Washington Purple Riders on the Midvale diamond. Fred Welsch and Paul Frank each collected singles for Port, the only safeties garnered off the slants of Weaver who struck out eight batsmen and walked four. Larry Combs went the route for the Purple Riders, giving up six hits including a two-bagger by Frank Davis. Combs struck out seven and did not issue a walk.
