This week's basketball schedule is slim, but the first complete card of the infant season marks the opening of the scramble for county league honors Tuesday. Four teams have racked up two consecutive victories in non-league competition thus far and promise to make the circuit race an interesting one this year.

THE FAVORED Strasburg Tigers, league champions for the past two consecutive seasons, open their 1954-1955 season against the undefeated Port Washington Purple Riders, who are galloping along at a fast clip. While the relative strength of the Riders is being tested at Port Washington, Mineral City's young Tigers will invade the tepee of the war-whooping Gnadenhutten Indians who have looked very impressive in downing Freeport and defending District Champion Tuscarawas.

OTHER TILTS on tap in the circuit have twice-beaten Stone Creek at Baltic with Midvale invading Sugarcreek-Shanesville and Bolivar treking to Dundee. Both Baltic and Sugarcreek-Shanesville have won two consecutive tilts to date. The only other game on tap in the county this week has Stone Creek back in action when Dellroy invades the Panther gym Wednesday.
