Strasburg's County League champions will make their tournament debut tonight when they tangle with the up-and-coming Port Washington Purple Riders in the night-cap of a triple header in the 33rd annual county cage carnival. Two other games, both in the consolation bracket, will be staged on the Memorial Hall hardwood in the third night of the tourney. Dundee's Bulldogs take on the Bolivar Cardinals in the opening tussle at 6:30 with Baltic's Eagles moving back into action against the Sugarcreek-Shanesville Pirates at 7:45.

FIREWORKS EXPECTED

All three games are expected to produce plenty of fireworks with the Dundee-Bolivar and Baltic-Sugarcreek-Shanesville contests both renewing traditional rivalries while the Port Washington-Strasburg tussle pits two of the league's top teams against each other. Strasburg blasted Port Washington 88-53 in the Bengals' first game of the season, but the Riders have come a long way since that opening defeat and are now ranked as one of the "darkhorses" in the current tourney. The Riders earned the right to meet Strasburg in the quarter-finals contest by turning back Dundee 66-47 Tuesday night. Doors to Memorial Hall will open at 5:30. No seats are reserved for the games.
