LINERS...That No. 8 is getting good treatment on the Port Washington baskeball team. The jersey with No. 8 on it is what we refer to in this case, Chuck Linard, a high-scoring Port cager a few years back did alright by that number and then a cousin of his, Ken Huston, took over and kept up the tradition. Sophomore Ed Bates is the current wearer of the jersey with No. 8 on the back and he's keeping the high-scoring tradition going. Watch Ed Bates in the future... West Lafayette, the team that upset Strasburg here recently, avenged one of its two defeats last Friday night by clipping Union 97-85. Jerry Legge of the Generals whipped in 43 points in that game.
