The Tuscarawas Broncos (4-3) (9-5), defending District Class B Champions, snapped a seven-game victory skein compiled by Port Washington (4-3) (11-5) as they romped to a 76-55 triumph over the Purple Riders last night. The Broncos of Coach George Trombitas were never headed after grabbing a 14-11 lead after one quarter of play and were in command throughout the contest, posting a half time advantage of 30-24 and increasing the margin to 53-41 at the last rest stop. Although he was held to only eight points the first half by the guarding of Tom Jones, lanky Terry Deems emerged as the top pointmaker for the Broncos with 13 baskets and three fouls for 29 points. Dick Davis added 16 to the winning effort. Tom Jones tallied 15 for the Purple Riders while Paul Frank, despite the fact that he missed all eight free throws awarded him, was high for the losers with 16 points. The Port Washington Reserves (12-2) edged the Tuscarawas Reserves 43-40.
