67 - Gnaden One-HIts Garaway 8-2 (5-17-67)
SUGARCREEK - The Gnadenhutten Indians (8-1), District champion baseballers, treked to Sugarcreek yesterday afternoon and pinned an 8-2 loss on the Garaway Pirates (2-5). Three Gnaden pitchers shared the hurling chores as they tuned up for their Regional engagement tomorrow against Keystone at North Canton. Bill Kohl (6-0) worked the first 3 innings, and was credited with the win, followed by Roger Heubner (1-1) and Mike Kail (0-0) and limited the Bucs to only 1 safety, a triple by Bob Farver. Larry Harding (0-1) and Errol Miller (1-0) pitched for Garaway giving up 13 hits. Harding was the loser.
Supplying batting punch for the winners were Steve Moore (11) (12) who connected on 3 for 4 including a triple (1). Ken Huprich (3) (1) and Kohl (3) (1) each had a double and triple and Dan Jinks a double (5).
