67 - Port Washington Over-Powers Gnaden 6-3 (4-20-67)








GNADENHUTTEN - The charges of Head Coach Ted Martin (3-1) were knocked from the UNDEFEATED ranks yesterday with a 3-run loss to Port Washington (2-1) in regular play.  Greg Bender (1-0) started for the Riders and was relieved by Jeff Huston (1-1), who took credit for the win.  The duo allowed 5 hits and gave up 3 walks, while fanning 5.  Dan Jinks (0-0), Roger Huebner (1-1) and Steve Moore (0-0) combined in a losing effort, giving up 9 hits and 6 bases on balls, while striking out 7.  Huebner was tagged with the loss.

Seven Port Washington players connected for hits with Huston, Edwards and Bender slamming dubles.  Bender also had a single and McCune had 2 one-baggers.  Jinks (4) and Bill Kohl (2) were the only Indians to get extra base hits...both doubles, while Moore connected for 2 singles (5).
