67 - Scheduling Conflict Delays Gnaden-Powhatan Game
GNADENHUTTEN - The Class A District Tournament baseball contest between Gnadenhutten and Powhatan originally scheduled Tuesday has been re-scheduled for Wednesday at 2PM. Tournament manager John Zion announced the conflict of dates came from the Bridgeport Tournament. Gnaden Head Coach Ted Martin stated, "The Powhatan club looks real good. They have fine pitching and are expected to start John Lyson a big lefty who can really throw that ball." Coach Martin announced he will send Bill Kohl, also a strong southpaw, to the mound. Kohl (4-0) has tossed 3 consecutive 2-hitters so far in tournament play. The winner of the single game District play-off advances to North Canton Hoover Class A Regionals on May 19 and 20.
