Whether it's in throwing baseballs or basketballs - Gnadenhutten's Ron Bradley has tossed a lot of strikes. The athletic-minded Indian Senior, who combines track with baseball for his Spring activity, has built up an almost insurmountable lead in the Tuscarawas County Class "A" League individual scoring derby. Statistics maintained by the Daily Reporter sports department show the 5-10 three-year veteran has poured in 182 points in six league tests for a scintillating 30.3 game average. His closest competitor at the present time, diminutive Bill Phillips of Port Washington, has scored 90 in five games. Bradley will be much in the spotlight tomorrow night when his Gnadenhutten mates take on Midvale's Blue Devils in the No. 1 game of the year in league play. Both are undefeated and undisputed league leadership will be at stake. Scoring statistics also indicate that Bradley has what it takes in the clutch. His scoring average against non-league opposition is only 24 points a game. He has a 327-point aggregate for the season, averaging 27.3 points a game against overall opposition. Behind pint-sized Phillips, the race for runnerup honors is extremely close. John Rice of Baltic, who stands as runnerup to Bradley in overall scoring with 287 points, is third in the league race with 86 points. He's followed by Tuscarawas' Gary Caviness and Midvale's Ron Breniser with 84 each, and Gary Gerber of Baltic with 80. Only one other cager has averaged more than 20 points a game in league warfare, Caviness has 21.0.
