MIDVALE - Coach Pete Hilliard used a total of 11 players, but still couldn't keep his Midvale (8-0) (16-1) cagers from piling up the score over Port Washington (0-8) (3-15). And to top it all, a celebration was held with players being treated to a supper immediately following the game. A victory dance followed. To say the Devils had an easy time with the Riders is an understatement. With the exception of 5-5 guard Bill Phillips, who ended the night with 20 points, and John Landon, who had 10, the Riders served up very little in the way of an offense or defense. Midvale rolled to quarter margins of 20-9, 39-15 and 58-30. Tom Krocker was the big man in the attack with 24 points, while Hanes Hairston followed with 16 and Ron Breniser 13, Ron Kaderly had 12. The Reserve game was no better for Port as the Midvale Reserves (13-4) won handedly, 69-28 over the 4-14 Port Washington Reserves 69-28.
