PORT WASHINGTON - Hiland's Hawks (15-1) on Saturday night whipped Port Washington (3-14) 75-35. Coach Bob Schrock's charges had little trouble. They snared a 24-9 lead at the first stop and then 37-14, 56-19 margins. Port could not cope with the overall ability and well-balanced attack of the Hawks. Bill Phillips, Port's leading scorer, sat out the latter part of the third period and the entire fourth stanza following a minor bump on his head suffered when he crashed into a wall. Linus Miller was the big man for the victors when he meshed 14 points. Glenn Gerber added 10. Jim Bender's 14 were top for the losers. It was much the same in the Reserve game as Hiland beat Port Washington (4-13) 51-36.
