Midvale's once-beaten Blue Devils, who wrapped up their second straight unbeaten Tuscarawas County Class "A" League Championship when the loop concluded action last night, was the top-seeded pick this morning when coaches and school officials met to draw for the 37th annual loop tournament starting Tuesday at Memorial Hall. Tuscarawas Valley, Gnadenhutten and Garaway also were given seeded positions. Midvale will collide with Baltic in the second game of a 3-game program Tuesday night at 7:45. Stone Creek and Strasburg will meet in the opener at 6:30 and Tuscarawas Valley will play Tuscarawas in the 9PM windup. Two games are scheduled next Thursday night with Gnadenhutten meeting the Stone Creek-Strasburg winner at 7:30 and Garaway battling Port Washington at 8:45. Semi-final games will be played Friday night, February 21. The tournament champion and runner-up will advance to the Dover Sectional scheduled February 24-27-28. Midvale (16-1) and Tuscarawas Vallely (17-1) are in opposite tourney brackets. Baltic, Gnadenhutten, Stone Creek and Strasburg are in the upper bracket with Midvale, while Tuscarawas Valley, Tuscarawas, Garaway and Port Washington are in lthe lower bracket.
